This handsome bag is still available. It was knitted with emerald green
Finca pearl cotton in a flurry of cables accented with hand painted,
variegated beads harvested from a antique Victorian lamp. The neck strap
sports real emeralds, rubies, amethysts, freshwater pearls and lapis beads.
The fringed fold-over flap sports a Victorian bodice clip that is hand
signed by the artist who cast the piece. |
|
Knitted from tiny flower thread and embellished with antique silver bugle
beads, sterling silver balls and amethyst colored beads, the lavender pouch
on the left sports a fold-over flap with a vintage pin as an accent. |

 |
Black Finca pearl cotton knitted with gold confetti beads and a vintage pin
on the fold-over flap made this pouch disappear in a flash. |
|
The
first of these pouches were designed to carry tiny teddies. The next four
were all made to be worn around the neck and provide ample room for their
stuffed passengers. |

 |
The cranberry pouch, left, is a fantasy of black lined red beads looped
and fringed all over this pouch. Not to be outdone, the matching Thread
Bear insisted on being beaded.
The reversible mauve and raspberry pouch, right, was a special order for
Mary Daub, the artist who created this whimsical "pouch mouse". |
 |
|
 |
The champagne colored combo, upper left, was knitted from vintage English
mohair embellished with antique beads, crystals and topped off with a
vintage pin. The Thread Bear companion was crocheted from the same mohair.
The black and rust pouch, lower left, is also reversible. It was created
for an Admiral's wife who needed that something special to jazz up
her basic black cocktail dress. She bought the bear and had the pouch made
to match. |
|
This brilliant blue bag was designed around the hand hammered silver and
lapis link that was cannibalized from a broken antique bracelet that came
from Afghanistan. |

 |
This is a group of tiny pouches knitted with Thread Bear toppers. They are
all designed to be worn around the neck more as jewelry than as purses.
|
|
The celery
colored pouch on the right was knitted as a demo for a bead knitting class.
It didn't last out the class before it found a home.
